We’d just pile snow into “ramps” at near the bottom of the steepest part of the hill.
I doubt it could be done today, thanks to climate change, I suppose. I live in the same town I did when I was 12 (returned to after ~30 years of many other towns), and the snow just does not come. Maybe after the rare monster storm in Jan or Feb. But we used to jump toboggans from late November back in the day.
