Of all the cartoon heroes and villians that I could stand to learn more about, Im pretty sure the Joker is toward the bottom of that list. He’s maybe a little higher than spiderman, a little lower than Superman, but down there at the bottom, they all kind of blend into an inky brown mass of DoNotWant.

Scoff if you want, but the crime rate went up for nearly 20 years after Taxi Driver came out.

Then Shawshank Redemption came out, and the crime rate began to plummet.

Coincidence? I think not.
