I wonder whether like an astrolabe, you can get different retes for different lattitudes.
Bonus points would be awarded if the mechanism used can, as closely as possible, mirror the collection of epicycles and deferents postulated by one of the influential geocentric models.
It would be interesting if it could do the Ptolemaic and Tychonic models, but also somehow approximate Copernicus’ perfect circles in another heliocentric mode.
Kepler should have had this kind of watch.
