Hong Kong, with the New Territories, and Taiwan definitely kickstarted the Chinese manufacturing revolution. A lot of China is still low tech agrarian. But I welcome your clarification and don’t disagree with it.
The Chinese are developing new kinds of industrial organisation which are somewhat different from the pyramid corporations of capitalism, and I suspect that they will eventually replace it.
