The discussion of whether or not solitary confinement is torture or not is not relevant to this post, and discussion of it here will be considered victim blaming. If you really want to go down that semantic rabbit hole, start a new topic. But I wouldn’t expect a lot of appetite for that stance.

Private prisons should be outlawed, since the profit motive combined with the literally captive audience incentivises abuses.
