Did some work in an area where this occurs.
(Maybe: occured. No-Go Zone, nowadays.) Really beautiful stuff, the patterning. However, not really appreciable until you see it from above. Which goes to show: you need to change perspective to see - and maybe understand - the patterns in life.

ALSO, you can see these patterns in analog video feedback, if the camera has an invert brightness effect. I imagine it’s a very similar process to that in the shadertoy.
