Herb is rolling over in his grave. SWA pilots have been warning management for years about the crappy technology and lack of investment being made to modernizing operational systems. Instead, management has been busy doing layoffs, stock buybacks and executive bonuses.

“a… firewall” as in a single piece of hardware firewall? I’m hoping the explanation was dumbed down for the public and it’s more complicated than the system was configured with a single point of failure for a mission critical system. But I also know the short sighted budget constraints of management.
