Israel versus Palestine, Lebanon, Iran, Syria, aid workers, journalists, and UN peacekeepers. 2023-24

My GF’s brother walked from Calais to Palestine over the summer and arrived about 10 days before all this happened. He’s out with people like the escort groups mentioned in that article, somewhere near Hebron, I think. We’re all hoping like hell he doesn’t get injured or worse.

Gaza health ministry says 4,651 Palestinians killed in conflict

A total of 4,651 people have been killed in Gaza since the conflict broke out on 7 October, the territory’s health ministry has said.

The ministry, which is controlled by Hamas, said in a statement that those killed included 1,873 children, 1,101 women, and 1,677 men.

It added that, of the total death toll, 839 had been killed in southern Gaza, to where people in the north have been told to flee.

The ministry also said that 14,245 people had been injured.

I’ve noticed BBC seems to have become more careful about saying this explicitly since the Al Alhi hospital explosion.

Sadly, that event made it clear Hamas just pulls numbers out of the air which it severely undermines their credibility on casualty numbers.
