Agree with the gist of what she’s saying, but I’m going to be that annoying pedantic poster here, their rebranding to “pro-baby” is actually much more accurate.
Because they don’t give a shit about:
The mother’s health or well-being
The child’s health or well-being

And are likely in favor of the death penalty.

They don’t care about life.
They care a tiny bit more about babies than about life for the rest of us, I guess.

To you from failing hands…

But yes, 100%.

how about “pro-bring-all-fetuses-to-term” then? because they are definitively not pro-baby. they could give a rat’s ass about any child once it is born. they just want to make sure it is.

I think “forced-birth” covers it.

GOP “Pro-Baby” tactic begins to be linked to the QAnon baby-eating hoax in 3, 2,1… :crossed_fingers:

They aren’t even pro-baby. If they were, they would be in favor of things like universal pre-natal healthcare for pregnant women. No. They aren’t any more pro-baby than they are pro-life. They aren’t even really anti-abortion. We’ve all heard the stories about women on the picket lines outside clinics protesting abortion one day, and being inside the clinic getting an abortion the next. And how many abortions do you think Trump has paid for over the years. They are pro-controlling women. That’s it. And specifically, controlling poor women and POC.

As usual, trotting out the George Carlin quote:
“They’re all in favor of the unborn. They will do anything for the unborn.
But once you’re born, you’re on your own.
Pro-life conservatives are obsessed with the fetus from conception to nine months.
After that, they don’t want to know about you. They don’t want to hear from you. No nothing. No neonatal care, no day care, no head start, no school lunch, no food stamps, no welfare, no nothing. If you’re preborn, you’re fine; if you’re preschool, you’re fucked!”

100% All they care about is punishing young women for having unauthorized sex. They want to control the reproductive lives of young women because if they can’t have absolute control over those they see as weak and vulnerable, what is left to them?

They see forced birth as a righteous punishment for young women who commit the sin of having unauthorized sex. They are not pro-life; they want to make examples of women audacious enough to think for themselves. They hate your children.

Some please tell Psaki that Ohio is NOT “ruby red”
It’s gerrymandered to within an inch of it’s life, and it’s shitty of her to pretend otherwise,
to pretend that we’re not at the mercy of fascism, so she can make a rhetorical point.

I see a win here: the RW is spooked that their spin and labeling isn’t fooling people any more. GOOD! Ppl on the left need to learn to do more of this kind of language crafting: frame abusers and religious zealots as such, frame white domestic terrorists as such, stop using weak and vague language to try to seem objective, because that only serves the RW, which feels free to spew glib and irresponsible accusations of child molestation, indoctrination and murder at any opportunity. FORCED BIRTH is the correct term here. ANTI-MOTHER works too.

If you really want to be “pro-baby” then you shold be “pro-socialism.”

They won’t be babies forever, they will need food, education, healthcare and eventually jobs.

If you’re “pro-baby” you can stop pretending to care about them when they stop being babies.

“We can’t afford another bad quarter here at Little Tikes.”

Glad to see the “capitalism demands it” excuse made the list, although I was hoping for “infinite growth needs an infinite population.”
