John Oliver hits Trump hard

Not just that… they nearly crashed the Canadian Government Immigration page!

So you’re saying you guys haven’t built a wall to keep us out yet?

It’s just a shame that Oliver is only preaching to the choir. Drumpf’s actual supporters are so inside the bubble that they are beyond confirmation bias.

The most insightful part of Oliver’s piece, in my opinion, is the following:
“There is a part of me that even likes this guy. It’s a part of me I hate, but it is a part of me.”

I agree with you and like how clearly you explain the situation.

I also think we can replace the words Sanders and Drumpf with the words democratic socialism and fascism.

Those ideas are key because Sanders represents communities organizing around the shared work of remedying actual injuries. Voting is only one remedy among many that can integrate into community-centered work.

And, consistent with a point I understood @daneel to be making, both parties have reverted to fascistic methods before the Drumpf campaign.

If they do, do you think they’ll get Drumpf to pay for it, or will Mexico?

Oh come now, you know how nice they are. They’ll be glad to pay for it themselves.

Possibly due to the English habit of never clapping anything or visibly showing emotion.

There’s always Scotland. If the British leave, Britain will be no more. Basically voting for our own termination as a country.

What would it become instead?

Great Britain?

Plain ole’ England?

Strip it right back, I’d like to see the reemergence of Anglia, Wessex and Mercia again.
