This is a tricky one to know how to deal with. I could try to find clothing produced in the UK (where I live) and avoid sweatshops- but the money going to the poorer countries does help them a lot. So the ideal would be clothes made abroad but with a place that had real standards and looked after its workers. Any ideas?
Fair-trade clothing? Although, if I remember correctly, fair-trade coffee isn’t really any more ethical than regular coffee, and the difference in price at your local coffee shop is just gravy, and doesn’t have anything to do with how much they paid for it.
