I’m guessing a lot of tough on “crime” conservative voters come from “safe” neighborhoods and have never had much interaction with “crime”.

Depends, are you talking tax avoidance, general despoiling of the land air and seas, corporate bribery/quid pro quo? Cause those those criminals are their donors.
