I really loved to screwball comedy.
That one comes from good song town.
And of “Rachel Getting Married”. Probably in my top 3 movies released in the last 10 years.
All the obits I’ve seen today shamefully omit:
Demme liked working with Hitchcock so much he gave him a part in The Manchurian Candidate.
“Typhoid and swans, Clarice, it all comes from the same place.”
Demme changed my life! I’ll miss him.
Based on my extensive 30 seconds of research, that appears to be a Luke-I-Am-Your-Fatherism (which is, of course, when you insert a character name into a quote to make the reference less obscure).
