Oh, and if you’re freinds don’t dance…
On heavy rotation on cable lately; arguably THE 80s soundtrack:
Ugh, Youtube is desperately trying to push Crazy Frog at me too much as it is.
No video, because it’s a 2000’s cover of Axel F and not really 1980s, and because it’s Crazy Frog.
This one was freaky. Greg Kihn’s Jeopardy.
Kihn went in to be a fairly successful writer of horror comedy novels
Just as long as it is not the version that Apple Music maps safety dance to. It is still Men Without Hats but some version where they spell “safety” over parts of the song and for some reason it really annoys me.
Greg is a real weirdo (in a good way). His horror novels are surprisingly good - the Ed Wood adjacent “Horror Show” is probably my favorite!
And a totally unrelated 80s music video, because why not:
Noddy Holder is the hero this world needs.
Oooo, love Stump. Took years to track down this record for some reason.
I pair it with Les Rita Mitsouko (1986)
‘Goody Two Shoes’ was my Theme song in highschool - “Don’t drink, don’t smoke - what do you do? Subtle innuendo - must be something inside…” I mean it though, the mean rocker chicks used to sing it to me when I walked down the halls. (That and the theme to ‘Simon in the Land of Chalk Drawings’. High school was weird.)
