I wonder if the stage setting will use a strobe light to freeze the action in to a series of still images?

Except when the woman is falling asleep and then you see her eyes blink slowly.
I hope the opera uses at least some of Jetée’s score, by prolific composer,Trevor Duncan. Note that the score from Jetée was used by the Quay Brothers in their second live-action film, The Pianotuner of Earthquakes.
