From the article: “the reflectins are packed in accordion-like folds or pleats in the cell membrane”. This is easily the most fascinating thing I’ve read all month. It seems the octopus is still the cephalopod master of disguise, but I’m amazed by the variability squid demonstrate.

And, as always, their remarkable talents make me feel guilty about eating them.
