Las Vegas is making a fake Singaporean hawker food center inside a resort

I see zero napkin packets for saving spaces at the tables.

What struck me about Las Vegas is that you basically get theme park versions of other places (Paris, Rome, Venice…). It’s entertaining, but you’d be pretty silly to think it was like the real thing.

I think that’s part of the appeal, it’s like a kitschy parody/emulation of other things and places people like. Kinda like It’s A Small World but for adults, offer tourists something familiar but also a lot of glam wrapped around it. If i had to guess it’s a way to get people to drop their guard and buy into it all, i think for the most part it’s successful because walking through the strip and checking out all the weird interesting stuff that’s there is actually pretty fun (at least for me). I also love people watching so your mileage may vary :stuck_out_tongue:
