You can see this sort of thing all over the world, it’s caused by a harder, more durable rock being on top of a softer or more prone to erosion rock, such as sandstone over limestone or mudstone. As rain/dew/wind/animals do their thing on the rock, the softer substrate wears away faster leaving the larger cap stone balanced on the remnants beneath. There are lists online of such rocks in public parks, but I’d hurry. There are a lot of idiots out there, and pushing over such balancing rocks seems to be a favorite pastime of theirs, along with destroying natural arches and other bits of geologic vandalism. We are, after all, apparently not worthy of such nice things.
