Randy Milholland (of Something Positive and lately the Sunday Popeye comic) has started a new comic using Steamboat Willie Mickey and some other public domain cartoon characters. He’s not doing “edgy” or “dark”, just a regular comic featuring the characters cause he’s always wanted to do Disney comics but would never be able to.

Maybe, but sometimes the company is actually smart enough to not follow the Streisand example and just let things slide rather that give an undesired project extra publicity. For example they didn’t do anything to stop distribution of the movie Escape from Tomorrow, deciding instead that completely ignoring it was the best strategy.
