Sean sez:

One way or another, LiarTown will continue

woohoo! LiarTown was pretty much the only reason I ever found myself on Tumblr.

I didn’t even know it was tumblr-adjacent. I only ever saw his stuff here. It’s sad this will probably diminish his already small audience. I hope he doesn’t get discouraged.

I’ll miss Liartown, but it had been basically dormant for months.

Is there a place where the Tumblr refugees have found as a new home yet? Seems like a pretty big userbase primed and ready to go at this point. There should be a bunch of sites vying for their content. Maybe even without some of the more annoying limitations of Tumblr, like the tiny maximum image sizes.

Personally I found the NSFW content of Liartown to be thoroughly off-putting, much as I liked the rest of it.

The appeal of attracting a large userbase would likely be strongly countered by the prospect of being accused of trafficking in underage porn.

It was really only a problem for Tumblr in that it got their app pulled from the app store, an app that shouldn’t have been necessary in the first place.
