Liberland is a new micronation

Do you prefer “her?”

There’s also hir and hem.

Not in my universe. English already has a gender neutral “they” going back to Shakespeare as a singular. No need to butcher our language.

As well as “it”, which is what I prefer, if you don’t mind.

Ha! I knew you said somewhere in the past that you preferred “it”. I would have mentioned that tidbit sooner, but I see you’ve already expressed your preference, and wouldn’t presume.

I know, and the refugees are likely to be the people who they claim to want, as individualist capitalists won’t have many of the opportunities they want in the countries mentioned.

I guess I like the idea of their micronation being taken over by experienced libertarian-communist guerillas, although I suspect that they are more interested in keeping hold of Rojava right now.

Apparently… But the real question is, WWTD (what would Tito do)?

He’d sing!

Except “it” doesn’t refer to people, generally.

Lately we’re using it to refer to unborn babies. Which is a revival of an old usage, I think I read somewhere.

In this case, it has explicitly asked us to use “it” to refer to it.
