Not in my universe. English already has a gender neutral “they” going back to Shakespeare as a singular. No need to butcher our language.

Lately we’re using it to refer to unborn babies. Which is a revival of an old usage, I think I read somewhere.
In this case, it has explicitly asked us to use “it” to refer to it.
