Horse flies are arseholes who like human flesh.
Nobody has yet mentioned that, due to the effectiveness of the vinegar & soap trap, you will be horrified by how many you catch.
It may or may not be a borrow word but that does NOT make the plural “banana’s” - under any circumstances.
I’d have given you a pass if you’d suggested ‘bananae’.
I’d have seriously considered banana as the plural, as its original form may be one where singular and plural forms are the same (e.g. sheep).
@anon87143080 is of course perfectly correct insofar as -podes is the resolution in all cases where the plural form is disputed .
However, the plural form of banana is NOT disputed. It IS bananas.
Did you do any research?
I did. I could not find any sources or citations noting an apostrophe in this case.
Just look at it!
This whole discussion is bananas.
We find far fewer fruit flies (try saying that one five times after a coupla Trappist brews!) when we wash off our fruit and veg as soon as we get it home. Makes a huge difference.
Mangroves also walk. I made friends with a small one in Jamaica who had walked away from being part of a fence. I managed to pry out the barbed wire stuck in its bark. I’d climb it everyday after breakfast, lie down on it, and watch the sea.
I think you misspelled “gratified”.
We do similar with the apple cider vinegar in a custard dish. We call it the Hotel California.
Whaaat? And here I thought the credit went to Roseanne Roseannadanna.
I thought I was gonna die!
