Rollins a a ‘Lyre’ got me good.
I wouldn’t trust Ozzy Osbourne windshield wipers. He worked at Lucas Industries before he was famous.
This is great, but the motivation to music from industrial noises should go into a sequencer, styler, librettist Jupyter notebook (whatever Google’s replacing those by) or something, not B&W illustrations. Maybe just get those AAN fired up generating music that is fed mechanical noise, with user hinting (promote Plant, demote Jay-Z to door noises, move Beefheart or Zeppelin to the noise made by e-vehicles going under 30MPH and MJ to turnsignals… Then feed Voivod into middle layers.)
Sting as emulating a Hoover is savage, surely that’s the lede. Maybe we get a little toy Genesis ('67) and can whack reward dendrites or neurons or Kominsky-Markov whatsits to wag krautrockier or folksier or scatgroaning or sing intelligible lyrics as Kurt Throatsinging Coffeegrinder Cobain. Just missing a few samples of rockers saying “Here’s your UX back, &(&(_*&&!”
'ang on, gotta feed that through the thing that makes that sound human…
This is excellent, but the inspiration for music from industrial sounds should be channeled into a different tool, like a sequencer, styler, or a Jupyter notebook (or whatever Google is replacing those with). Instead of using black and white illustrations, it might be better to use the AAN to generate music based on mechanical noise, with user input guiding the process (e.g., promoting Plant, demoting Jay-Z to door noises, moving Beefheart or Zeppelin to the noise produced by electric vehicles traveling under 30MPH, and MJ to turn signals). Then, we can incorporate Voivod into the middle layers.
The standout point here is Sting emulating a Hoover, which is truly remarkable. Perhaps we can also include a miniature Genesis ('67) toy that can stimulate reward pathways in the brain or certain neurons or Kominsky-Markov thingamajigs to evoke more krautrock or folk influences, or even scatting or intelligible lyrics like Kurt Cobain’s throat-singing coffee grinder. We just need a few snippets of rockers saying, “Here’s your UX back, &(&(_*&&!”
Hold on, I need to run that through the device that makes it sound more human-like…
