Years ago I saw a basement show where a guy (wish I could remember his name) had drum machines in a surround sound setup, and rather than play rhythms, they would just do programmed staccato bursts of different drums. The effect was like being in a dense jungle surrounded by clicking insects and frogs.

Very nice, but I’m more fascinated by the artist’s tattoos:
