The idea of this thing is more amusing than the actuality of it, for me. It’s just not very musical for the section of the clip I viewed. Those kittens are adorable though!

Set up idea:

  • one track for recording voice audio
  • set up midi instrument (or software midi controller) to create a nasty saw-tooth sound
  • send from voice track to Imitone plug in
  • Imitone plug in controls saw-tooth instrument pitch
  • mix original voice track and pitch-controlled saw-tooth and send stem into vocoder plug in
  • INSTANT ROBO VOICE

I’m not a musician, but that second track at feeding time was pretty cool. There actually seemed to be some synchronicity with the meows.

Boy, doesn’t that take me back. We used the original Meow Mix song to pacify my youngest brother when he was a baby. He’s 46 now.
