Logitech plans to brick its internet-connected Harmony Link devices next year

That’s what I was referring to:

Unfortunately many NAS devices using ARMEL CPUs won’t be supported (eg. ReadyNAS Duo/NX v2, some of the cheaper Synology devices).

I just would like to keep using mysqueezebox.com for my podcasts and radio, and be able to use Spotify. I don’t want a second device running all the time. If I want to listen to the music on my NAS, I turn it on, and sync the SqueezeBox and the raspi (1) with it. [But gone are the podcast, then, since I lose connection to mysqueezebox.com.]

It’s great that the Webservice ist still up and running. But it sucks that Spotify breaks things.

It’s important to note that Logitech has been selling off their inventory of these things at a discount as recently as a few months ago with a three month warranty. That’s the dirtiest part, in my opinion.

I won’t even consider things like this that require cloud to work.

This is only one of the reasons why.
