Big Covid spike in that area in 3, 2…

Oh wait, the news isnt even focusing on the new strain and how much more contagious it is.

Even when that does happen we likely will not hear about it.

  • “Unless someone has a medical condition or a religious imperative, people should not be allowed to cover their face in a manner that hides their identity when in public,” said County Executive Bruce Blakeman.*

I’m glad to see that people with medical conditions won’t be arrested for wearing a mask. This really just sounds like a legal shakedown on trick-or-treaters. The war on Halloween! Won’t somebody think of the children?

It’ll be enforced on immunity-suppressed people trying to avoid infections – but it’ll never be enforced on masked neo-Nazis like the Proud Boys or Patriot Front.

They all wanted to NOT wear masks, but what about my freedom TO wear one?

No matter what idiot politicians say, masks for public transport should be subsidized not banned

The religious exemption pisses me off. “Oh, I’m sorry, your reason for wanting to wear a mask isn’t superstitious enough, so you no longer are allowed control over your own face.”

The Republicans don’t surprise me at all, of course. These two Democrats? Someone please slap them and tell them “don’t be stupid.”

The state did a good thing when it repealed the old ban on masks… it’d really suck if this sort of thing turns into a trend and more local governments start banning them again.

And I’m pissed that Hochul wants to bring it back as well… with the flimsy excuse of ‘CriminaLS ARE WEAriNg tHEM’…

I’ve noticed that Apple’s iPhone face recognition software seems to recognize me with my N95 mask on, so I guess it doesn’t hide my identity if some dumb machine can recognize me despite it. I suppose they still might be banning KKK or Guy Fawkes mask, but this is going to be fun.

Even if the claim were true, I really don’t see too many people willing to break the “Don’t rob/assault/etc.” laws being stopped by the “Don’t wear a mask” laws. Banks have had signs prohibiting face coverings for a long time. Never stopped bank robbers from wearing them AFAIK. You’d need a ridiculously prompt and consistent and professional level of enforcement for this to work even if all the claims about the reasons for it were true.

Eric Adams is a cop and very few of his policies square with the Democratic Party platform, so I’m not even sure why he ran as a Democrat. Hochul has always been a conservative Democrat. Not a centrist, but a conservative.

Oh, well then, slap them both even harder.

I’m wearing a mask when I have to take a bus, subway or LIRR. I help take care of older ladies and there’s NO way I will endanger their health.
