Look at these parachuting beavers

Two things struck me about this video (other than the wonderfulness of parachuting beavers):

  • Because fur was economically important, animals were carefully relocated instead of being “destroyed” or just left to starve. So much for “fur is murder.”
  • The parks department had funding to pay humans to capture individual beavers, load them into custom made wooden boxes, then fly them to new locations!
