Saturn 3’s aesthetic, to me, was always more a sexied-up version of The Black Hole vibe, sans the kid’s toy merchandising.
When Outland was first released, much was made of the fact that it is essentially a remake of High Noon.
Interesting, while watching it i got a vibe that the plot would be pretty awesome as a western but i appreciated the fact that it was a non-gimmicky scifi movie. If it is loosely based on an existing movie that makes a lot of sense, that said i loved the storytelling in Outland.
Techhnically, the DVD release was crap. A challenge to deinterlace. The widescreen side wasn’t anamorphic-- except for the trailer. And on and on.
Hey, I just enjoy watching the movie!
I wasn’t sure about the whole concept of films being in ‘the same universe’, why is that a reoccurring and compelling idea in sci-fi fandom… my personal love of the genre is in the worlds and spaces created more than the stories/narratives - the claustrophobic and expansive space is a common one…
OK now I get the chatter outside of the fiction!
I feel cheated, as that title doesn’t mention butts at all.
