Excellent review! I want to correct one point. Noelle Stevenson is no more a “Marvel/Disney alumnus” than Ta-Nehisi Coates of Black Panther.
While both recently started working for Marvel in the last year, neither one got their start, training and then moved on from working at Marvel.
Stevenson first gained acclaim for comics work from her webcomic Nimona, begun in 2012. https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Nimona
After other projects for Boom! she began Lumberjanes in 2014. It wasn’t until after she’d become famous elsewhere that she did her first work for Marvel in 2015. It’s a pretty tiny part of her bibliography.
