As I understand it, it’s background music used in the movie, being used at that point to help highlight the commodification of grunge. Works great in that context. Outside of it, well, we all know (or should know) how subjective taste tends to be.

Of course it was! The CD booklet had a photo of sheep in flannel. (This photo isn’t visible in the image below.) The CD had a happy cash register on it.
