Here’s a comparison between the movie’s map and reality:

If anything, the statue should be further inland, but all things considered it’s pretty consistent with what’s depicted in the movie.
(Aside, I’m no geologist, but I’d expect a lot more land movement with all the new rocky upthrusts that seem to have come out of nowhere.)

i once wanted to talk about Ellesmere Island and called it Ellis Island. Boy were the people confused.
