I miss Sylvia Rivera so much !!! The world seemed safer having a trans leader who was an unappologitic revolutionary.
One of the best demonstrations i ever was at was an event by STAR and MGN protesting at ESPA headquarters.

With the trial over, and her now facing 35 years in prison, I think her official “coming out” announcement was more of a soul cleansing by someone who felt they didn’t have much more to lose at this point. I didn’t see it as a calculated ploy just to get attention. That said, I have no doubt that the gender issue played a significant part in her whole situation - though even Chelsea herself might be hard pressed to determine what parts were cause and which were effect.
