I assume that Rubio intends to do a follow up video on the dangers of authoritarianism in the interest of balance.

Or you can be a socialist and not bother with losing your individual freedom

Or is Rubio more concerned that a few people might not be free to coerce others into doing all the work while they take all the profit?

About that “First time as tragedy, second time as farce” it’s not exactly funny living in the middle of a Farce. (Gee whizz, the number of times I’ve said that “second time as farce” lately…)

OMG, don’t sacrifice your freedom to choose which doctor you can’t afford!

Real 'Muricans die in the street wrapped in freedom and month old newspapers.

I think one of the first things I would do as POTUS would be to pass an executive order that ANY elected official is required to take a one year course in civics and political science. It would cover the basics on how our form of government works and the basics of the most popular political philosophies and systems in human history.

If you are going to work in politics, you need to know what the fuck you are taking about…I am so tired of this bullshit.

“Freedom” is just a buzzword conservatives like to throw around.

“Government health care is going to take away our freedom” they say.

Meanwhile private health care is taking away our savings and our homes. I guess being destitute IS a form of freedom!

Our current crop of politicians are certainly delivering on the farce. But that doesn’t stop it also being tragic.

Engels, incidentally, qualified the nouns: in his formulation it was “grand tragedy” and “rotten farce”. The adjective ‘rotten’ seems particularly apt just now.

I thought it was the health care provider’s freedom to chose your doctor?

So I was having coffee with my dad and one of his friends.

He was complaining about socialism and how he had been to communist countries and seen people lined up for bread.

So I told him that no one argued that markets were not a very efficient way of allocating goods but they work better with rules. I didn’t want the government telling the baker how much bread to make. I wanted the government telling the baker not to use child labor and arsenic in making the bread.

Basically would you rather be a retail clerk or waitstaff in Denmark or Alabama. Both are market economies.

My dads friend looked at me and said he had never thought of it that way.

Ps. Based on what this guy has said recently after the Nevada caucus, he still hasn’t

The GOP has always had a good answer to that: Don’t be poor.

This is such good advice. I wish I had known that when I made all the choices that are affecting my life now.
