Marijuana makes people morally unfit for U.S. citizenship, pot users lack 'good moral character' — Trump administration

Pot makes immigrants ineligible for citizenship even if pot is legal in the state where they reside.

As I recall one of the reasons some of Trump’s people were initially denied security clearances was due to a history of illegal drug use.

The pornstar president is quite the example of a moral compass isn’t he folks? Nothing like being spanked by a pornstar or being given a golden shower by Russian hookers.

As a practical matter how can they know if a future citizen purchased cannabis with cash at a dispensary?

Shitty law yes, but part of being American is knowing that there are rules and then there are rules.

There is hypocrisy abound in this administration in many domains of corruption, and paid-off, nda-laden adultery is pretty gross, but I don’t think there’s any call for tagging sex work as immoral to get there.

It’s not just the people who purchased marijuana, it’s the people who were legally employed by the dispensaries or farms or distributors.

Used that work visa to get a job as a farmhand in Humbolt County while you were waiting for your immigration hearing? Too bad.

Smoke a bowl, take a stroll, cool off.

Not to mention one has to show id in order to purchase at dispensaries.

This is yet another attempted bullshit distraction from the Bullshit POTUS.

Only unethical people are fit to become citizens, because they know when to lie about breaking the rules.

but… they’re not legally employed. they’re not applying to be citizens of california.

i’m not saying it’s a good law, but if you blatantly violate federal law, you can’t be a citizen. maybe they should immigrate to canada if that’s an important thing for them.

You think ethics merely means following all the laws? So by your metric Eichmann was one of the most moral Germans, not someone like the generals who tried to kill Hitler?

As we used to say…

Can’t cope?
Don’t mope.
There’s hope:
Smoke* dope!

* Preferable vape, or better still for your heart and the hearts of those around you, *eat*, *absorb* dermally, or hit a tincture.

If you’re saying people should follow it, then you’re saying it’s a good law.

As Melz2 notes: Dispensary members have to register with ID to become customers, & show ID each time they make a buy. Presumably the dispensary can track purchases.

Good thing we have this administration to point out those who are morally unfit.
