one thing that i haven’t heard or seen mentioned is that the Ingenuity copter has a swatch of fabric from the Wright Brothers’ plane on board. the symbolism is so wonderful and stunning. there’s no way they could have imagined where their first flight was going to take us.

I have an over abundance of cynicism these days but watching this live as they received the telemetry and seeing the images of the plucky little drone in the air really warmed the cockles of me heart i tell ya. I really felt the importance of the history of powered flight behind it.

That’s really thoughtful of you, but it does not quench my thirst for the sound of a helicopter flying on Mars. Maybe the microphone team didn’t want to stay up late enough?
