I am in awe of Ian Davis. A couple of weeks ago he provided this detailed update on all the engineering considerations, where he was seeing too much wear and tear, properties of materials used and how to get the best leverage to effectively strengthen the grip. He keeps building new ones from scratch as he considers a ton of improvements each time.
Meanwhile he also developed a prosthetic fit for a Milwaukee 1/4" impact driver. Here’s the long version:
