Another famous traffic helicopter pilots was Francis Gary Powers who had been shot down in a U-2 spy plan over the USSR, but later wound up reporting LA traffic before dying in a helicopter crash in 1977.

Just wow! Helicopter reports are something I remember from “always” but never knew who was first and certainly didn’t know the above.
