Oz is the classic charlatan, promoting bogus “medicines” like green coffee beans and apple cider vinegar, and also endorsing hydroxychloroquine as a treatment for Covid.

You forgot to mention that he promoted reiki healing on his show too.

Is Oprah ever going to be brought to justice for unleashing this worm on us?

So Oz is going full on racist here.

Fetterman can just fling it back at the great and powerful OZ by saying “we can save millions in your tax dollars by releasing model prisoners who have been rehabilitated. Why is Oz so dead set on wasting our money?”

Oh, right, because wasting Pennsylvania tax money doesn’t matter to him - he does his millionaire tax avoidance in New Jersey, not PA.

Wish I could say it was unlikely to work, but it was a pretty effective tactic against Dukakis.

Why does he look like a Thundercat?

IIRC, Dukakis also had all the appeal of a wet blanket; whereas Fetterman is not only charismatic, but very social media savvy.

I recall the same thing.

It doesn’t appear to be working. That’s been part of Oz’s line on Fetterman since the start. And Fetterman just crossed a 10 point lead in polling.

The other major attack points are he’s a SOCIALIST who even KNOWS BERNIE SANDERS.

These all seem more like attempts to shore up Republican support than anything else. Oz badly under performed in his primary and IIRC surveys showed the problem was the Turkish citizenship, the fact that he’s Muslim. But leading all of it the lives in New Jersey thing.

I’ve watched conservatives here in Philly stop mid Biden or Fetterman bashing sentence when Oz comes up. They REALLY don’t like the New Jersey thing.

Meanwhile Fetterman’s actual problem spots. Like that time he pulled a shotgun on a Black jogger. Don’t come up so much. Probably cause they play well to the exact GOP voters that are so suspicious of Oz.

I realize that the cruelty is the point and all; but shouldn’t everyone, even(possibly even especially) team ‘tough on crime’, seek to empty prisons while in power?

Even if your standards of evidence are impeccable and your court functionaries not given to doing lines of qualified immunity; full prisons aren’t what winning the war on crime looks like; they are what being locked in a quagmire with crime and without an exit strategy looks like.

I’m not, in principle, disquieted by the notion of using retributive force on people who require it; but I do recognize that, while you can’t get away with playing at victory by just releasing people who are abjectly unsuitable; every prison term you need to hand out is a sign that the situation was allowed to get out of hand and you’ve arrived at a suboptimal outcome.

I’m not quite sure if these people just aren’t satisfied unless the people that the law binds but does not protect can be observed by the people that the law protects but does not bind to reassure them that all is well with the social order; or if they are so inured to pretending to not lose at forever wars that they honestly can’t distinguish between actual victory and pitifully small local maxima in conflicts that they cannot win; but have sufficient resources to deny that they are actually losing for an indefinite period of time.

so that’s how they got there :open_mouth:

As if a lone member of congress has the power to change the law back in their home state all by themselves.

Over here in the western part of the state, “black jogger episode” is the new “bUt HeR eMaiLs” because it’s pretty much the only thing they can remember to bring up.
