When i want to communicate with someone, I tend to offer them the very best chance to distinguish between facts I have, and opinions I have, by choosing my words carefully.
Is this needed 100% of the time, every time I talk to anyone?
No.
Is is a damned valuable skill that applies when I find it applicable, for me, the speaker?
Yes, and I don’t care to hear your opinion on if that’s right or wrong OF ME. If it’s right or wrong FOR YOU when I do so, I’d hope you’d use those extra few words, or not, to clearly communicate your intent - namely whether you intend to add to or detract from the quality of communication emanating from your end. Either way is fine with me, just want you to understand that not everyone listens the way you or your friends or I, do. Not everyone speaks vaguely about hot button issues with neutral or good intent, and you can actually distinguish yourself as above that fray by adding a few words. But only a few.
