Competition is good. Let them fight (for my money). Apple isn’t going to lower their prices but they will up their capabilities (tho 8GB in a McBookPro is in$ane tbh). Weird how the CISC/RISC wars are back, courtesy of the cellular ‘smart’ phone - which is mostly still tethered to cellular infrastructure that SUCKS, I don’t need faster, I need farther, more reliable, ubiquitous coverage. I got better cell signal sailing under the golden gate bridge and beyond than at my home office in a valley (may as well be a cave) in Marin. First world problems I know…
At least this is challenging the Intel/Microsoft duopoly (along w nvidia, AMD and a host of RISC-V and other challengers). Tho most of this Qualcomm stuff runs Windows rather than Linux or on a fancy Chromebook, so mb notsomuch. Interesting times.
