I was a bit surprised when watching this video shared in another thread that more effective masks (like @Skeptic is recommending) may muffle speech less. This won’t help with lip reading, but may help with breathing and being understood.
If you’re wearing them often or for long periods fit matters and it can be hard to find what works best for you…which means finding extra time and money. Which is tough for many.
I’ve wondered if masks being common would change how we express emotion and sarcasm, but now a year or two later I don’t think masks have become ubiquitous enough to change it.
