More shots from the new Dune movie

Frank Herbert was pretty explicit about borrowing a common trope from early pulps, a single-biome planet, even though he brought an exceptional level of detail to Arrakis because he was actually interested in ecology. There’s since been a lot of ink and pixels spilled critiquing the science of such a planet.

Hard to know for sure what that would look like in person. It’s not recommended to look directly at the surface of Mars without protective lenses (and helmet) which would no doubt alter the color spectrum a bit. Probably something like this though:

Indeed! And yet at the same time it seems that it went everywhere - in all kinds of ways contributing it’s psychic dna to the Star Wars and Alien sagas, (and who knows how many other behind the scenes influences).

And as much as the Lynch movie was a bad adaptation, you’ve got to love the sets and most of the casting.

I mean, the spice literally extends life so it’s not a stretch to say the source material would lend itself to young looking cast. No excuses needed.

I am less than impressed by the motorcycle glove knuckles that have been stuck on the wrist. Cool wrist bumps bro.

I’ve gotten so good at that I do it with current movies where hype is still rampant. got to find a neutral headspace. it sure is easier doing it with something after all that dies down though ya…
