How would drivers over there blast Jay Z’s Izzo at bad drivers now?
John Lithgow was right!?
Take it from someone who has spent time in Cambodia, you don’t need musical truck horns to get run over there. And the country has bigger problems than spontaneous outbreaks of dancing in the street (a little while back, one of the larger problems was probably Hun Sen; now it sounds like it’s his son, Hun Manet).
Speaking of musical vehicles, there was a period when Japanese-made trucks and buses had musical back-up beepers; instead of just beeping annoyingly, they’d play a little tune as they reversed. I stayed in a hotel near a bus station once and got serenaded all night long by tinny chiptune versions of “The Lambada” (*) as the minibuses came and went.
(*) “The Lambada” was overwhelmingly the most popular, but there were others. I never found out if the owner could choose their own backup tune, or if they were stuck with whatever the vehicle shipped with.
fine! Cambodians don’t want to hear the General Lee play fxxking “Dixie”!
