Musk’s ex-girlfriend describes their relationship as “the best internship ever”

Maybe she was, but most of the far left people I know roll their eyes when someone says they are going to do that.

This. For sure this, I’m not even sure why there is a conflation here for people. Conservative poor people and far right poor people are very real, they definitely exist.

But also… I don’t think she has a clue what she is talking about. First of all, she gives me strong vibes like she means she experienced “roomed with some questionable people in a flat above a club while moonlighting as a dj” type of “poverty.” However, I don’t know anything about her really.

Perhaps I’m mean for speculating at all.

Really, I just am sick of celebrities being treated like their perspectives on life are inherently useful or interesting. They’re not. Not hers. Not Musk’s either. Whatever their talents or skills the truth is that they’ve been so removed from other people’s reality for so long that their perspectives are often just long chains of survivorship bias punctuated with creative efforts and baseless assumptions. When they talk about literally anything outside of their narrow niche of expertise in life it’s generally more harm than good because of their outsized influence. Meanwhile, I get truly tired of every channel I see online being a gavage of whatever opinions so-and-so who got famous for whatever has on their buffet spread today.

She comes from a very solid, middle class family in Canada. She’s been pretty well supported through out her entire career. She’s made some great music, but she comes from a decent amount of privilege, and often shows her privilege when speaking about anything other than music, frankly.

To be fair, some do have worthwhile and interesting perspectives. Just, a lot of them don’t, too.

You know what, you’re right. I’ll upgrade my diction a little.

I can imagine if someone is really famous, you’re constantly surrounded by people blowing smoke up your ass about how smart you are, and that is probably where so many end up going off the rails. No one ever tells them that they’re wrong, so they think they’re always right.
