Mystery solved: why has a beach in France been blighted by washed-up parts for toy Garfield phones for more than 30 years?

I don’t see why it was bad to limit the amount of branded merchandise?

I’m sad that when I look out my window, everyone isn’t wearing a shirt just like this. I don’t want it all the time, that would be silly. But could we make it happen for maybe just one day?

The best local response to this would be to start a Garfield telephone cargo cult.

I wish there was an article tag for Garfield stories.

I had one of those phones. When you hung up Garfield’s eyes would close.

That was a time when having your own phone in your bedroom was cool.

I had absolutely nooooooo idea! That explanation makes sense and yet feels weird! I love it.

Ah, I was thinking it was just the bodies, not the assembled phones. In which case, one or two thousand per pallet wouldn’t be so bad, I guess, depending on the packaging. I don’t know where Cory’s getting “200 pieces” from, though; the video says a couple of tonnes (according to auto-translate), which would imply phones weighing 20 lb each.

When I saw the youtube video and that phone scene I couldn’t shake a feeling that it was from one of the Godfrey Ho movies, and it turns out (naturely because of the actor Richard Harrison) it was in more than one of Godfrey Ho’s movies.

I do like the Ninja the Mission Force trailer that you lniked (there are seasons of this?? oh yeah) for what looks like a love letter to Gofrey Ho and other classics like Turkish Star Wars.
