Yes! As I said over there, she’s awesome (and so is her book ).
I wish BB would put this Big Think on the front page, as it has with others.

Heh, I lived this… drove me out of fandom. The white fans were LOLing at the very concept they could have racial biases, they were married to a Syrian, a Mexican, their stepbrother was black, their best friend was an adopted Korean and she thinks just like a white person. And me, I’m a second generation Chinese Canadian, it’s not like I have first hand knowledge of China (nevermind that my folks aren’t from China either), in the first place! They should know… somehow.
I still find it hard to watch Star Trek: TNG for this reason (I used to love it, but now, much comes off as smarmy to me). And I know it’s shallow of me, but I hate how so many of those people I dealt with in fandom ended up at tor.com or ended up as high up editors in SF.
EDIT: OH and I forgot the condescension… I believe the line was “It’s good of you to admit you might have some resentment over your position as a minority in a majority white society, but don’t assume that we as individuals hold racial biases just because you do.” ARGH, so infuriating!

This pulls everything into perspective…
Sarah Huckabee Sanders, roleplaying as Press Secretary, was seen attempting yet another Deception roll despite her character sporting an abysmal 5 total Charisma score, according to insiders from within the Trump administration. The low roll of 3 (natural 6 minus 3 when factoring in Charisma) was contested by the entire nation’s passive Insight, which at the time of reporting currently sits at 9.
Though Sanders is specced into primarily Intelligence to bolster her spellcasting ability to allow…

Well, the most important thing is that the NRA shouldn’t be making legislation. Legislators should be doing that.
When publicly elected officials make legislation they should attempt to consult widely to ensure that they understand the impacts of the legislation and that they make legislation that represents the people who they were elected to represent.
So, yes, people making legislation should definitely ask consult doctors, criminologists and many other groups (including the NRA) when maki…

@anon50609448 was gone for a long time; so glad they’re back.
@wanderfound said that black people didn’t enjoy the same “rights” as white people, not that they didn’t enjoy the same physical capacity as white people. There was never a question of what utterances people can emit from their mouths. The point is that hateful white people seem to enjoy “free speech” far more than any other group. America is willing to bend over backwards to ensure it is not blocking their free speech.
When Desiree Fairooz laughed during Jeff Session’s confirmation (or whatev…

Navarro has the patience of a saint, but even he too has reached his limit with one certain gentleman.
Continuing the discussion from Shaming Ocasio-Cortez for her clothes is a classic ruse to deflect attention from real issues :
do you have any idea what a mess of bad faith arguments, non sequitur arguments, moving goalpost arguments, appeals to authority, appeals to ignorance, and an almost total lack of self-awareness you’ve treated us too in this thread?
i guess not, because if you truly understood the nature of your side of this discussion it would mean you had done this all deliberately and thus proven yourself to be an irredeemable trolley, but since you have no self-awareness you are more to be pitied than scathed.
edited for spelling.

For the excellent link in the middle of the post, about the “Reagan Revolution”
It’s nothing to do with capitalism per se; that’s just the framework in which the looting is happening this time around. As you said a few lines previously, public education is extremely beneficial to any well-regulated, market-based capitalism.
But of course this has been going on for decades, and is the natural and fervently desired consequence of the “Reagan Revolution” . Remember, the sainted Ronnie was the guy who killed taxpayer-funded college in America.
“If it takes a bloodbath, let…
