Pfft, ‘domesticated’, like we had any control over them. You mean they had trained their human servants for much longer than we originally thought.

Paraphrasing Walt Kelly’s comment on the then-new investigations of echolocation:
“It should never be forgotten that, all the time we were domesticating cats, cats had an excellent opportunity to domesticate us.”
