New KKK organization open to people of color, Jews, LGBT

Why in the world do you think Republicans work so hard to repress the vote in urban areas?

Republican vote suppression is about the odds. Individual black, Latino and Jewish people can be just as anti-immigrant and hardcore christian (or Jewish) right wing as any white dude. Iā€™ve met them! I doubt any would trust the KKK to have actually changed their attitudes on race, and the LGBT thing would be a dealbreaker, but those are other issues.

Well of course they CAN be, individually, but your first statement implied that, more generally, any group as a whole is just as xenophobic, etc. as white fundies:

Once you get past the whole skin color thing, blacks, latinos, and jews are just as xenophobically anti-immigrant and right wing as anyone else.

Anyway, thanks for the clarification of what you were actually thinking. Glad to hear the thought was an obvious truth, rather than a racist generalization.

It might be helpful to remind everyone at this time that the last significant ā€œimmigration reformā€ legislation to pass Congress and get signed into law was sponsored by Republican Spencer Abraham, a son of immigrants.

Defeated for a second term in 2000, in part because during the campaign the Federation for American Immigration Reform ran ads asking: ā€œWhy is Senator Spencer Abraham trying to make it easier for terrorists like Osama bin Laden to export their war of terror to any city street in America?ā€

Not your fatherā€™s GOP anymore.

At this rate, KKK will soon be a zombie brand for Chinese watches or something.

Yup. I was living here then. It was a nice little slice of schadenfreude to see him lose his seat.
