No first amendment right to hold 8x11-inch signs saying "1 KID > ALL THE GUNS" in public seating of Tennessee legislature, says state's attorney general

These same Republicans undoubtedly believe Trump’s attempts to undermine the 2020 election results are completely supported under the 1st Amendment.

Wish I could give this more than just one vote.

Bring in a guitar, and write “this machine kills fascists” on it.

These idiots keep droning on about how the Second Amendment protects the First, but when the First is used to protect kids from the Second, they don’t like that very much. You know, it’s almost like they don’t actually care about the First Amendment at all. Huh.

Or paint your gun “Not as important as a kid.”

Or paint a sword (which counts as an “arm” for purposes of the 2nd) with your slogan.

That would be a powerful visual. Send in the first lot, they get kicked out for paper signs. Maybe a second wave, they get kicked out for words on t-shirts.
Then the 3rd set, they all have (ideally fake) AR-15s with the message painted on them. But they get in before flipping them over to reveal the message.
It’s truly telling that these cowards are more afraid of words and information and opinions than of tools designed for the sole purpose of killing people.

What about guns with slogans painted on them? Does the gun-essence or the sign-essence apply in such an instance?

I don’t know, but if you are in the Tennessee Mystery State House you can let go of it and it will just hang spinning in the air!
